To provide a place where young people and their needs meet with Jesus, their Saviour.
Our Christian ethos means that we believe young people have intrinsic worth and potential; and that this potential is ultimately realised through a relationship with God through Jesus. We exist to help young people discover this, but provide care and opportunities regardless of religious background or expression of faith.
Holywood Youth Trust has at its heart the provision of a safe and welcoming place where young people can come and feel at home. A place where they know that they are safe, accepted and cared for.
The Youth Trust has been building on youth outreach work started in the Summer of 2003 by First Holywood and High Street Presbyterian Churches. This work touched the lives of many young people, including those who often feel on the fringe of our community. A significant number of the young people were involved in risk-taking behaviours which had negative effects on themselves and the wider community.
To help these young people and respond to their needs, we recognise the necessity of long-term and relational youthwork in the town. We are also aware that God calls us to go help people in His name showing His love. We believe that this can be best achieved through God’s people working together, giving Him the glory.
